Model 03 Frontier S with the feeding port in its lid

The Frontier S is a one-piece foraging area (outworld) with the same 3¾ × 3⅛ in footprint as the Founder. Its ports sit at the same height as the nest's, so a Link joins them directly. Inside, a platform at the port leads down a ribbed 35° ramp to the floor, with a sand pit and two recesses for feeder dishes.

The drop-in acrylic lid rests on an inward lip and carries a feeding port, so you can drop food in without lifting the lid. Close it with a Port Plug or a Vent Plug. For water, push a Test-Tube Adapter onto a spare port.

The top of the inner wall is printed extra smooth; paint the top inch with Fluon (PTFE) as an extra barrier for climbing species.

Two sizes, one design

Both have the same platform, ramp, inward lip and lid feeding port. Each matches a nest's footprint, and either joins any American Ant nest with a Link.

  • Platform and ramp

    A platform at the port leads down a ribbed 35° ramp to the floor.

  • Sand pit and trays

    A Sand pit and two recesses for feeder dishes. The feed and drink trays come in the box.

  • Feeding port

    Drop food in through the lid without lifting it. Close the port with a Port Plug or a Vent Plug.

  • Barrier
